EUROBIKE goes China
Dear Business Partner EUROBIKE,
The EUROBIKE is the world's leading trade fair for the bicycle
industry. It stands for high innovation, high-end products, trends and
a perfect community platform. As such, it is only logical that one
should now also be looking at the emerging markets such as China.
Our entry into business in China took place
six years ago with the Asia Outdoor through a joint venture in which
Messe Friedrichshafen is significantly involved. We are not only
putting our expertise and our networking competence into this event,
but also have central marketing responsibilities. Within a short time,
the Asia Outdoor has become the leading outdoor trade fair in China and
throughout Asia. 19,180 trade visitors (+17.5%), 452 exhibiting brands
(+26%) over an exhibition area of 42,000 square meters (+31%) and 405
media representatives were registered 2011 in Nanjing.

Parallel to the Asia Outdoor, the Asia Bike
was also held for the first time in July 2011, which was organized
through the same joint venture, and therefore also primarily by us. As
there are many technical sales synergies between the outdoor and
bicycle trade in China, the combination of both fairs under the motto
"Two exhibitions, one entrance fee" seemed to lend itself to the
occasion. And the feedback was accordingly positive about the first
event: 138 brands (95 of them from abroad) occupied an exhibition area
of 12,000 square meters. 11,957 trade visitors and 355 journalists
(including 17 TV channels) found their way to the first event in
Nanjing. The resonance to the Asia Bike in TV exceeded all imaginable
dimensions and thus makes this event unique in China.

Similar to the Eurobike, the Asia Bike has dedicated itself to the
high-end and high-tech sector. The concept in Nanjing will quite
deliberately focus not on the mass market, but the premium market. Many
conceptual modules of the EUROBIKE such as the Industrial Award, the
testing circuit or the fashion show are also an integral part of the
Asia Bike. On the basis of the extremely positive initial run, numerous
key account discussions and – ultimately - because of the current
status of registrations, we are expecting strong growth for 2012.
We can only encourage you to actively
approach the future in a foreign continent head on and to take
advantage of this market opportunity. Because if there is one thing
that all previous business transactions in China have shown us: it is
only by being onboard early-on that you will be able to position
yourself at relatively low acquisition costs in the Chinese domestic
market.
